Awesome, just awesome. I am going through a divorce right now, and as hard as that is, something that really bothers me is that I am so afraid that God won't be able to use me like he could have, had I let him choose my husband. I'm not regretful that I married him, since I have my wonderful son because of it, but when I see a missionary come to our church, so passionate about what he does, and about Christ, that he cries when asked why he does what he does..... I can't help but to wonder if I could have been married to someone like that.
Anyway, sorry this is so long - but thanks for today's message. I love them all, but this one really spoke to me.
I would say God Bless you, but I know he already has!
It was interesting coming across this topic. I was a Bible major at Bob Jones University and this is exactly what they taught.
I still remember Preacher Boy's class held in the Concert Center where my old teacher said that even some unsaved people who lived such a wicked life would be disqualified for service for God when they become saved because of a permanently marred life.
I heard such arguments several times while as a student there and every time there would be a student that would raise his hand and say, "What about Paul?" I have never heard a good response since Paul had believers murdered prior to his salvation.
I was told that I am not allow to pastor because I married a woman that was married before to a man that beat her and threw her out for another woman that he ended up marrying. Somehow the husband of one wife is no longer talking about polygamy to them.
