I still find myself praying this with an anxious heart, feeling I'll never love Jesus like these people who seem to love Jesus so much, who preach a mixture of law and grace. Well, they wouldn't say they preach the Ten Commandments or anything. They claim that we are "Under the law of love".
ReplyDeleteBut if even Jesus, who said He couldn't do anything of His own initiative, how can we make ourselves love Him? I sincerely believe that they sincerely WANT to love Him but they can't love Him because they do not receive His love. They receive the systematic theology of the Gospel and understand it in theory but deny it in their actions. Some people are so bent on proving themselves to God that they cannot receive Him because nothing they do is ever enough. The bar is constantly being raised over their heads.
