I know that the Bible says that the Holy Spirit will judge people for their unbelief. Doesn't the whole Truth of God's patience and unconditional love negate the whole idea of eternal damnation. Wouldn't God forgive anyone then? Not to say He wants to see us act sinfully, nor should one think that they could do anything they want with no responsibility, but ultimately the true lesson that we will all learn is still to come.
