A 2D world is a good analogy, Steve. "I'm not sure, but I know he is one!" So many that criticized Bell and "Love Wins" and "The Shack" before that, never even read the books for themselves. Lemmings following lemmings. But where are those that have "ears to hear?" Keep dishing out the grace message, brother.
Hi Steve Thanks for showing this! I have found that over the years when accused of both these that a joy and deep assurance, not self generated, just engulfs me, for truth the person and work of Jesus, truly allows you to live in freedom in boldness and confidence.
Steve, i don't believe you are a Universalist...i just have a problem with your praise of Rob Bell and Brian Mclaren. I saw and heard Rob Bell tell his audience to breathe in, breathe out, over and over again...an eastern mystic ritual...then he told them to CENTER themselves. He spoke of Mantras and Karma. This is not just a slang terminology. This is occult practices and occult terminology. If you don't see the danger in these things...
I don't ever remember mentioning Brian McClaren.(I may have, but apparently my thoughts were such that I still even remember them.) In fact, I'm not a big fan. My only exposure to Rob Bell was his last book. I'd hardly call what I said "praise" of him. I simply pointed out that he said he's not a Universalist and I take his word for it.
Having said that, the concept of "centering prayer" is something that was practiced by the early church and is still prevalent in some parts of the church world. The occult probably uses air conditioning too but the fact that both groups do something doesn't inherently make it evil :)

IF Rob Bell taught the people karma and to repeat mantras, of course I disagree with that.
