Oversaved

I love to laugh and this is a guy who made me laugh. Sometimes I talk about people who are more religious than they are spiritual. If you've ever wondered what that means, Michael Jr. gives the perfect answer . . . they're oversaved! :)

  1. This story is somewhat different than what the comedian was talking about, but his routine reminded me of my mom. I once took her to Hollywood, California to see the famous Mann's Chinese Theater. (This is where there are footprints and handprints of many movie stars through the years, imprinted in cement.) I was showing her the various stars---"Hey mom, here's Humphrey Bogart, here's Clark Gable," etc., etc. She was not impressed one bit. She looked up from the sidewalk, and said loudly and emphatically, "My name may not be written here, but my name's written in the Lamb's Book of Life!" . . . Well, she was right. Bless her heart . . .

  2. I wanted to name my first child Aubrey until I met a boy of the same name who ran screaming from a TV when it changed programming from the News at Noon to the soaps! Obviously, the product of "oversaved" parents. He ruined the name for me.
Embarassingly enough, though, when I did have my first child, I became a little over-zealous. After hearing a Christian speaker pose the question,"Can your child name the disciples or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?", I refused to let our daughter wear the Ninja Turtle sweater her Grammy had given her! What a doofus!
Ah, the freedom the law brings, NOT!
Hey, it's another series-sincerely goofy things we do to please God. :)
